Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle Knitters and crocheters - gather together in the parlour of St. Mark’s on the 3rd Monday of each month. Monday, October 15th will be our next time of gathering at 1:00 p.m.

Glendale Kitchen Ceilidhs: starting at 7:00 p.m. October 17th Traditional Cape Breton music. Admission is free, donations appreciated, Proceeds to the Fr. John Angus Rankin Cultural Centre. Lunch to follow.

Les Friends of Notre Dame de l’Assomption Cathedral Association would like to invite parishioners to participate and celebrate the 175th anniversary of the first Mass celebrated in Our Lady of Assumption Cathedral back in 1837. October 13, 14 & 15. On Mon., Oct. 15, at 4:00 pm the celebration of the Eucharist with Fr. Angus MacDougall & Fr. Hughie D. MacDonald. Music will be a variety of choirs and cultures. The 19th Annual XFM  Hospital Help Day Raffle will take place on October 25th on XFM in support of the St. Martha's Regional Hospital Foundation.  Proceeds from this event will be used to purchase a Blood Culture Analyzer for St. Martha's. Raffle tickets are $2.00 each and 10 prize packages to choose from. There will also be a tag prize of a trip to the 100th Anniversary Grey Cup. Fundraiser for Cohen Poirier (Son of Debbie Long and grandson to the late Emerson and Norma Long). Sat. October 13, 2-6  then dance 9-1  at the PH Legion. Bake sale, silent auction and flea market items accepted as well as donations.
