Sunday, May 30th Choir Service

The Choir conducted the services at both St. Mark's and St. David's On Sunday, May 30th in the absence of Rev. Sheldon. The music was greatly appreciated by both congregations.

Rev. LeGrow's Vacation

Rev. LeGrow will be on study leave on June 20th and on vacation all of July and the 1st Sunday in August,

St. Mark's 44th Anniversary Service

St. Mark's Anniversary Service with Communion will be held on Sunday, June 13th at 9:30 a.m. Light refreshments will be served. There will be no service at St. David's. St. David's congregation is invited to celebrate this event with St. Mark's. All are welcome to attend.

85th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada

On June 6th Inverness-Guysborough Presbytery will hold a service with Communion at 7 p.m. at St. Mark's to celebrate the 85th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada. A light lunch will be served following the service.

St. Mark's Ways & Means Committee

St. Mark's Ways & Means Committee is catering a buffet supper for 150 seniors from the Sydney area on Monday, May 31st and a roast turkey dinner for the Annual Girl Guides Meeting on Thursday, June 3rd. We are very fortunate to have many people who are donating food and offering to work, but it would be greatly appreciated if you could contribute towards the cost of some of the groceries if you cannot volunteer otherwise. Your donation will be receipted for income tax purposed.

Choir Practice

Choir Practice will be held at 5:45 p.m. on Wednesday, June 2nd. We are preparing for the Inverness-Guysborough Presbytery Service celebrating the 85th Anniversary of the United Church of Canada to be held at 7 p.m. on Sunday evening, June 6th as well as St. Mark's 44th Anniversary Service to be held on Sunday, June 13th at 9:30 a.m.

The Singing Quilter

Cathy Miller - The Singing QuilterMusic & Songs about Quilts & Quilting
The Ocean Waves Quilt Society of Cape Breton
is pleased to bring Cathy Miller to Port Hawkesbury.

She has traveled the world singing for quilting events and
she will perform for quilters and non-quilters at our church.

The Heritage Quilt from Maritime Conference will be on display along with
the Blankets of Love for the Mental Health Foundation of Nova Scotia.

Lunch will be served in the hall following the concert.

Choir Practice

There will be a Choir practice on Thursday, May 27th to prepare for the Choir Service that will take place on Sunday May 30th.

St. Mark's Ways Means Committee

St. Mark's Ways Means Committee would appreciate it if some of the men and ladies from the congregation could stay after church on Sonday May 30th to set up for 150 seniors on three buses from the Sydney area that we will be providing a vuffet supper to on Monday, May 31st. This will avoid having so much to do on Monday, May 31st. Thanks for your cooperation.

St. David's Sunday School will be having their closing on May 23rd. There will be light lunch following the service.
