ORDER OF SERVICE JULY 22ND, 2012

Thoughts around which to gather as we worship:  Concerning today’s Epistle reading: The letter reminds the new Christians that the sacrifice of Christ calls all people, no matter their background, into relationship with him and with each other. In order to achieve that radical unity, the old structures must be torn down and a new structure, a “spiritual dwelling place" must be erected.

Opening Prayer   together
Gracious and loving God, we bring to you our prayers this day. There is struggle and conflict all around us – in the church, in the community, in the world. Yet we know that in the midst of all this we find your spirit, turning sadness into compassion, mistrust into relationship, and confusion into hope. Guide us as we celebrate our unity this day and give voice to all our joys and concerns. We pray in Christ’s name, Amen.
