ST. DAVID’S ANNOUNCEMENTS


Next service of the Sacrament of Baptism at St. David's United Church is Sunday, September 2nd. Anyone wishing baptism, transfer of membership or affirmation of faith on that date, please speak to Nan.
Celebrating  Quilting at the Causeway: Thursday, Aug. 9 to  Thursday Aug. 16, St. David’s United Church. If anyone has quilts with a story &/or family quilts, we would love to show them in the church during this Celebration. Contact Catherine 625-0388 or Barb 625-1546
St. David’s Anniversary Service will be on October 21st at 11:00 a.m. This is a combined Service with St. Mark’s. NO Service at St. Mark’s. Lunch to follow. Everyone is welcome to come.

ST. MARK’S ANNOUNCEMENTS


The Ways and Means Committee of St. Mark's as well as the Cookbook Committee would like to keep you all informed as to how our fund-raising is going and what bus suppers we will be catering to over the next few months. The cookbooks have arrived. It would be much appreciated if members of the congregation who do not have email and would like to contribute food, work or make monetary donations, please contact Ruth at 625-2424.  We will be catering meals to Buffet Supper for bus group on Tuesday, September 11th. Sunday, August 19th Festival of Cape Breton Fiddling, Outdoor Concert at St. Ann's, Gaelic College.

The Service of Covenanting between the West Bay Pastoral Charge, the Inverness Guysborough Presbytery and the Rev. Richard Bowley will take place on August 12 at 7:00 at the West Bay United Church. Our chair, Heather Manuel will preside at the service and Alison Etter will preach. Since we, as presbytery, are part of the covenant, every effort should be made to be in attendance.

The Malagawatch church is located at the Nova Scotia Highland Village in Iona and will be holding it's annual anniversary service on July 29th at 3 p.m. Worship leader, Karen Ross from the River and Lakeside Pastoral Charge will be the guest speaker. Everyone is welcome. Hymn sing will start at 2:40 P.M.

Glendale Kitchen Ceilidhs: August 8th, August 22nd, September 5th, 19th, October 3rd, 17th Traditional Cape Breton music. Admission is free, donations appreciated, with proceeds going to the Fr. John Angus Rankin Cultural Centre. Lunch to follow.
