| We enjoyed a "free" afternoon and a break from all the work of General Council. This is the CE wing of Emmanuel United Church which is one of the first churches to receive an LEED designation (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). Nan visited Emmanuel this afternoon (walking the 5 kms to get there because she missed the ride offered for the tour) and was so glad she made the effort--they have done an amazing renovation to their 60s church building. More pictures below showing some of their green efforts--recycling, composting, rain water collection, reduced water consumption. |
