NAN'S AT GENERAL COUNCIL 41

 41ST GENERAL COUNCIL--THE FIRST DAY

Waiting to board our plane from Halifax airport to Ottawa, August 11th. Shown are some of the Commissioners from Nova Scotia presbyteries (Ian Harrison, Fay Smith, Joan and in row behind, Alice MacAskill) Air Canada had overbooked the plane so many of us had no seats at this point. (We did all get on the flight but just)
Ian, Nan and Joan at Halifax airiport.    I have now arrived at the 41st General Council in Ottawa! Yesterday was a day of travel and settling into our accommodations at Carleton University. Many of the Commissioners from Maritime Conference seem to be staying here in Frontenac House on campus. Some of us traveled together on Air Canada from Halifax yesterday morning at 7:40.
Worship band leading singing. The music and liturgical dance using the colours of the logo were incredible at Opening Worship. Mardi Tindal preached in three parts on Micah 6:8 and the dancers danced with each of the three colours of the logo. The Council is set up in circle--a large circle around a centre worship platform and then every table group at circle tables. Large screens around the meeting room enable everyone to be able to see what is happening. I am at Table 44 and other Maritime Conference Commissioner at tables beside me are Linda Scherzinger, Kathryn Anderson, Allison Davis.
