Sacrament of Baptism

In baptism, we symbolize and celebrate the grace and love of God for a particular individual and, at the same time, for all people of every age, baptized or not. The act of baptism does not confer that love. It acknowledges God’s love in a sacramental celebration.

*Call to Worship
One: This is no ordinary place and no ordinary gathering.
This is the house of God.
All: This is the place where God reaches out
and touches the mouth of the prophet Jeremiah,
the place where the prophets cry out for peace and justice.
One: This is the place where Christ himself reaches out
and sets us free from our brokenness.
All: This is the place where God reaches down
into the corners of our lives, to offer us the mystery of holy love
and the peace of Sabbath time.
One: This is no ordinary gathering. This is no ordinary place:
this is the house of God. So, let us worship God.
