Nan & Bruce will be house sitting at Dave & Camille’s until Sept. 11th. They will be checking messages regularly during this time.

Food Bank donations are received on the last Sunday of each month.

Copies of the UPPER ROOM for Sept. – Oct. are available

Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle Knitters and crocheters - gather together in the parlour of St. Mark’s on the 3rd Monday of each month. Monday September 17th will be our next time of gathering at 1:00 p.m.

October 7th – World Wide Communion Sunday/Thanksgiving Sunday.

ST. MARK’S ANNOUNCEMENTS


Registration of St. Mark’s Sunday School starting on Sunday, September 16th.

September 18th – Congregational Board Meeting- 6:30 p.m. Executive, 7:00 p.m. Committees, 8:00 p.m. Combined Board

The Ways and Means Committee of St. Mark's as well as the Cookbook Committee would like to keep you all informed as to how our fund-raising is going and what bus suppers we will be catering to. We will be catering meals to Buffet Supper for bus group on Tuesday, September 11th. To contribute food, work or make monetary donations, please contact Ruth at 625-2424. The new re-ordered Cookbooks have arrived. Ruth - Chair of the Ways & Means Committee.

Church Hall Cleaners for September are Catherine Mac Lean & Lynn King

St. David's UCW will meet on Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the home of Cathy MacLean at 12 noon.

Sept. 16th – Official Board Meeting following worship.

St. David’s Anniversary Service will be on October 21st at 11:00 a.m. This is a combined Service with St. Mark’s. NO Service at St. Mark’s. Lunch to follow. Everyone is welcome to come.

Glendale Kitchen Ceilidhs: starting at 7:00 p.m. September 19th, October 3rd, 17th Traditional Cape Breton music. Admission is free, donations appreciated, with proceeds going to the Fr. John Angus Rankin Cultural Centre. Lunch to follow.

Terry Fox Run 2012 Date: Sunday, Sept. 16th Time:  1:00 pm
Location: Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre Come join us Sunday, Sept. 16th to walk, run or bike 1 km, 5 km or 10 km and help support the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research!  Register online at terryfoxrun.org or just show up at the Civic Centre on the day of the event. For more information to participate or to volunteer, call Sarah at 625-5405. No minimum entry fee. Raising pledges is optional. Donate what you can and join the fun!

There will be a Scholastic English Book Fair at Tamarac Education Centre starting Tuesday, Sept.11th - Thursday, Sept. 13th from 8am -3pm. Family night will be Thursday the 13th from 6 to 8pm. We have prizes to give away! All proceeds made will go directly back to the library. 60% for selling over 2 thousand dollars and another 10% for having it in September! We accept Visa, MC and cheques! Everyone is welcome!!
