Nan & Bruce will be house sitting at Dave & Camille’s from August 25th – Sept. 11th. They will be checking messages regularly during this time.

Food Bank donations are received on the last Sunday of each month.

Copies of the UPPER ROOM for Sept. – Oct. are available

Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle Knitters and crocheters - gather together in the parlour of St. Mark’s on the 3rd Monday of each month. Monday September 17th will be our next time of gathering at 1:00 p.m.

ST. MARK’S ANNOUNCEMENTS


The executive of St. Mark’s Congregational Board is asked to meet at St. Mark’s at 7:00 p.m. on September 6th to plan a support event for the Darryl Mac Quarrie Family. Darryl has been ill for a few months and is awaiting surgery. It is hoped that a representative from each committee will be able to attend.

September 18th – Congregational Board Meeting- 6:30 p.m. Executive, 7:00 p.m. Committees, 8:00 p.m. Combined Board

The Ways and Means Committee of St. Mark's as well as the Cookbook Committee would like to keep you all informed as to how our fund-raising is going and what bus suppers we will be catering to. We will be catering meals to Buffet Supper for bus group on Tuesday, September 11th. Church Hall Cleaners for September are Catherine Mac Lean & Lynn King

Sept. 16th – Official Board Meeting following worship.

St. David’s Anniversary Service will be on October 21st at 11:00 a.m. This is a combined Service with St. Mark’s. NO Service at St. Mark’s. Lunch to follow. Everyone is welcome to come.

Glendale Kitchen Ceilidhs: starting at 7:00 p.m. September 5th, 19th, October 3rd, 17th Traditional Cape Breton music. Admission is free, donations appreciated, with proceeds going to the Fr. John Angus Rankin Cultural Centre. Lunch to follow.

Terry Fox Run 2012 Date: Sunday, Sept. 16th Time:  1:00 pm
Location: Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre Come join us Sunday, Sept. 16th to walk, run or bike 1 km, 5 km or 10 km and help support the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research!  Register online at terryfoxrun.org or just show up at the Civic Centre on the day of the event.
