Sing a New Song

Reflect on some “old songs” of faith – perhaps hymns you learned as a child, or words and expressions you used to de­scribe God and your faith journey when you were younger. What in those words is still valid? What seems outdated or no longer relevant? What are some new ways you might want to describe and/or express your faith journey today?

One: We enter into this space, singing different songs,
sometimes in the same key and sometimes not;
sometimes in rhythm, sometimes syncopated, and sometimes not.
All: Gather our songs, O God,
and transform them into your song.
Gather us, your children, and form us once again
into your church: your loving and loved people,
your hands and feet in this world,
eager to dance according to your tune. Amen.

Thank you, God, for all that we can do. May our gifts bless your church and your people, so that others may sing and dance and praise your name. Amen.
