A
thought around which to gather as we worship: The
Season after Pentecost is a time to reflect on God’s transforming presence, and
our scriptures testify to a God who longs to lead us and all of creation into
wholeness and peace.

Announcements The Work of Church and Community
We Gather to Worship God
Welcome and greeting one another
with the Peace of Christ.
In light of the gospel lesson about all of us being part of Jesus’
family if we do the will of God, it is suggested that we call each other
“brother” or “sister” when passing the peace today.
One: The peace
of Christ be with you, sister/brother name.
Response: And with
your spirit, sister/brother name.
* Introit Come Build a
Church (printed)
Come build a church with soul and spirit,
come build a church of flesh and bone.
We need no tower rising skyward;
no house of wood or glass or stone.
Come build a church with human frailty,
come build a church of flesh and blood.
Jesus shall be its sure foundation.
It shall be built by the hand of God.

* Call to
Worship (based on Psalm 138)
One: Come
let us gather as God’s family
to sing
praises and give thanks to God.
All: We
give thanks for God’s constant love and faithfulness.
One: When
we call out to God, God responds.
All: God
strengthens us.
One: When
we are surrounded by troubles.
All: God
keeps us safe.
One: God’s
love is eternal.
All: Thanks and praise be to God!
Opening
Prayer (together)
Creator
God, we delight in the beauty of this June day.
We see the
bursting forth of new life all around us
and we are
grateful.
We experience
the love of family and friends
and share
friendships in our church family
and we are
grateful.
On this
anniversary Sunday, we look back at the ministry enacted by this church over 46
years
and we are
grateful.
Help us to
open ourselves to you and to each other
that we
may experience the newness and deep joy
that you offer
to each of us. Amen

Distribution Hymn Christ
of Compassion (printed)
Christ of compassion,
Christ of all giving,
Come fill our hearts with
your comfort and care.
Christ’s living presence,
Spirit of Loving,
Nourish and
strengthen the faith that we bear.
Care for our neighbour,
friend to the stranger
Gently we offer the love
in our hearts.
Peace to the fearful,
hope to the lonely,
Spirits
renewed through the care we impart.
Caring companions,
friends on a journey,
Sharing our kindness, our
goodness and peace.
Love strengthens
weakness, courage, and wisdom,
Shaping our living, our
joy to increase.
Bread of
communion, wine of thanksgiving,
Gifts of the Spirit we
share in this place.
God feed our yearning,
banish our aching,
Fill searching
souls through the gift of your grace.
We who would hunger,
thirst for God’s justice,
Come share the meal where
God’s love is made real.
Bread of forgiveness, cup
of sweet blessing,
Filling this Church with the hope that
we feel.
