St. Mark’s Men’s Group

Again in 2006, we made our customary donation to the Seasonal Services Project. Early in the new year we decided to buy a new computer for the Church Secretary as the old one was quite slow and rather flakey. The purchase did not include a new monitor as Gladys donated hers when she upgraded her personal computer. The Men’s Group also contributed $50 for spending money to our delegate to Youth Forum.
Our seventh annual Buffet Dinner was held on February 2. While not quite as well attended as last year’s, there were still few conflicting events, but it was generally very successful. It netted about $880 this year. Thanks to members and non-members alike for their contributions of casseroles and desserts. Both matched quite well with the number of people who came, and the new heat lights kept the hot casseroles hotter. Some people noted that the red light from the heat lamps makes some of the dishes difficult to identify so we replaced the red lamps with white heat lamps.

Again in 2006, we collected $50 from each member to cover the cost of the food for our breakfasts. By the end of the year, we had $571 left over in that account. It was considered to be a donation of $33.59 by each member and receipts were issued for that amount. This balance will be used for the benefit of the Church.
