St. David’s U.C.W.

St. David’s U.C.W. organized our annual Christmas Dinner project in December. We are very grateful for the tremendous response from members of the congregation who helped by donating groceries as well as gifts for the children. Fifteen boxes were filled and delivered to families in our area.
Christmas gifts were delivered to seniors and shut ins of our congregation to let them know that they weren’t forgotten. Evergreen wreaths were purchased to help decorate the church for Christmas.
We held our Pancake Supper on Shrove Tuesday with the proceeds going to the Mission and Service Fund and organized the food for the Easter Sunrise Breakfast on April 8th.
We nominated Heather Graham for a volunteer recognition award from the Municipality of Inverness County in April.

Our May 9th monthly meeting was held at the manse. Melita was presented with a farewell gift. We will miss Melita’s energy and enthusiastic participation in our group.

Small gifts of appreciation were given to the Sunday School teachers and the Sunday School treasurer during their closing presentations on May 27th.

Our group hosted the May birthday party at the Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home on May 29th. Three residents were presented with gifts and we all enjoyed birthday cake and the lively music of Heather Richards.

We wish the Pelleys much happiness in their new home.
Have a safe and happy summer, everyone.
