St. Mark's Bid the Pelleys a Fond Farewell
A large group of St. Mark's members came out to the Farewell Social June 20th which was held in the hall. Everyone enjoyed the trays of fruit, vegetable and dip as well as punch and cookies. The hit of the the evening was the chocolate fountain.
Melita and Wilf were presented with a genuine piece of Cape Breton as a momento - a cutting board made from River Denys Marble. Camille gave them a framed colour photo of their portrait that had appeared on the cover of the latest edition of the Contact. Other gifts were also received. Even though their time here with us has been short, (3 1/2 years), they have really become part of the community and we will miss their presence among us.

Father's Day at St. Mark's
The Evans family gathered at Coffee Time at St. Mark's. "Little" Lucy who celebrated her first birthday was in the arms of Uncle Luke. Grampa Larry tried to offer visiting grandson Max some juice while his mother, Joselyn was custodian of Max's treasures. Susan Butts discussed her change in hairstyle with Grandma Lucille, Melita and Denis. (Actually it was executed by Susan's daughter Jennifer in honour of a committment after the Rely For Life exceeded it goal in raising funds for cancer research.)
St. Mark's Men's Group Breakfast, June 17
The last Men's Group breakfast meeting before the summer break was on Sunday morning June 17. Buying the new computer for the Church this spring left us without enough to spare to make our usual June contribution to the General Fund. One of our delegates to Youth Forum was unable to attend because of a conflicting commitment. Her cheque was returned uncashed.
A summer lawn mowing sign-up list was circulated. Several weeks are still open for those who are available and willing to mow (not limited to Men's Group members).
We discussed Rev. Pelley's forthcoming move. Several members offered advice and anecdotes about their various moves.
