Summer Worship Schedule
August worship at St. Mark’s, Port Hawkesbury 9:30 a.m. (includes Sunday, September 2nd) 

Nan will be on vacation from August 15th to 28th. During that time,  pastoral care will be covered by Rev. Heather Manuel, Guysborough. Worship on August 19th will be led by Mary MacDougall, L'Arche Cape Breton and on August 26th by Lorna MacRury.  

The “UPPER ROOM” for September-October are available.

Food Bank donations are received on the last Sunday of the month.

The Port Hawkesbury Branch Library presents The Discovery Center On the Road, Thursday, August 16th. 
At 10:00 am we will present Smart Art for children ages 5 to 7. Please register by calling 902-625-2729 as spaces are limited. Smart Art: Puzzle over geometry and challenge your spatial skills using tangrams.  Learn how art and science work together to play tricks on your eyes with optical illusions.   Make and take home a thaumatrope; a tool that lays the foundational understanding of moving pictures and cinema. 
Then at 11:15 they will present Slimy Science to children ages 8 - 12. Please register by calling 902-625-2729 as spaces are limited. Slimy Science - Roll up your sleeves and get ready to act like a scientist!  Let’s get a little messy and explore changes to matter.  Investigate why chemical changes happen and finds signs that indicate a change is taking place. Take home a slimy concoction. 

Terry Fox Run 2018

This year celebrates the 38TH Anniversary of the Terry Fox Run! Come join us Sunday, Sept. 16th to walk, run or bike 1 km, 5 km or 10 km Road Route OR  walk the Port Hawkesbury Community Trail from the Playground to TEC and back. A great walk for the whole family! Come out and help support the Terry Fox Foundation for Cancer Research! Bring a friend and have a great time keeping Terry?s Dream alive! Register online at terryfox.org or just show up at the Port Hawkesbury Community Park on the day of the event.
