You are invited to bring one piece of fruit or vegetable to be brought forward during worship as an expression of gratitude. An apple, potato, carrot, squash, etc. These will be gathered and taken to the Food Bank following worship.

One: Make a joyful noise to God, all the earth.
Women: Worship God with gladness;
Men: come into God’s presence with singing.

Women: Enter God’s gates with thanksgiving,
and God’s courts with praise.
Men: Give thanks to God. Bless God’s name.

Opening Prayer
Generous God, provider of manna in the wilderness and daily bread from heaven, we thank you for your holy word, for remembered history, for the know­ledge of how you liberated your people from op­pression, sustained them during times of trial, and opened their hearts to share your joy. As we prepare to worship and give you thanks, inspire us to hunger for the bread of life. Amen.

One: We thank you, God, for the good gifts that we have received. We know that you are the true giver.
All: Today we return a portion of what you have given to us, and ask that you bless this offering. Guide those who will direct the use of these gifts to meet the needs of those who hunger for daily bread, and for your presence and peace. Amen.
