Call to Worship
One:
On this day, which is holy, we gather,
All:
not alone, but as Christ’s body; as ones who would suffer together,
we gather.
One:
On this day of celebration, we gather,
All:
not in isolation, but in community; as those who would care for one
another, we gather.
One:
On this day of joy, not mourning, we gather,
All:
not with empty hands, or empty hearts, but as those baptized in
grace’s tears, we gather.

Prayer
One:
Holy
God, Word-giver: in the gentle rain washing our upturned faces, in
trees dancing in the morning we hear your joy;
All:
in the whisper of the wind, we overhear your dreams for us; One:
in
the silence of the night, we eavesdrop on your grace;
All:
in the prayers of the poor, we take notice of your compassion. One:
Jesus
the Christ, perfect Word overcome our need to focus on ourselves
All:
so we might serve others.
One:
Make
us humble enough to hear your good news
All:
and wise enough to live it.
One:
Enchant our hearts with your grace,
All:
so we might weep with those around us.
One:
Holy
Spirit, Cup holder of Living Water: as we suffer together, All:
may we drink deeply of your compassion.
One:
As
we rejoice together, as we pray together,

may our hearts feast on your love.

As
we worship together,
All:
may we hear the word you have for us.

God
in community, be with us,

in these moments, as in every moment. Amen.
