Food Bank donations are received on the last Sunday of each month.

Youth Group meeting for youth 10 and up on the first Sunday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mark’s Church Hall.

Lenten Study--in the Easter Season??

Are you reading the study book “Singing a Song of Faith”? Gathering for group discussion at St. David’s on Sunday evenings during the Easter Season. Join us at 7:00 p.m.

Future Quest: A Summer Experience for Youth
School of Religion, Queen's University  
who? Youth age 14-17, from across Canada, who want to have fun and learn in a community.
what? Two weeks of learning, moving, serving, and growing in community, facilitated by helpful staff and excellent guests.  
when? Future Quest Summer 2012 is scheduled for August 4-18. Deadline for
applications is July 16, 2012; space is limited to 24 participants, so apply early!  
where? Queen’s School of Religion, Queen’s University, Kingston, Ontario.  
how much? The program fee is $800, which includes accommodation, all meals, canoe and camping equipment rentals, program activities, and transportation while at Future Quest. Early Bird Special of $100 off the total fee if application is received by the Future Quest Office by May 31, 2012. In the past, participants have received help from church groups and service clubs. Limited bursary assistance is available ($300), based on need.

Copies of the “Upper Room” for May-June are available

The Contact submissions are due no later than May 10th for the June issue. If you are responsible for submitting a report for a committee or group, please send it on time. Looking for pictures church, youth, Sunday School, etc. events as well as weddings and Baptisms. Please call Camille if you have photos to contribute and she will let you know how to send them to her.

"St. Mark's Cookbook Committee is happy to inform you that our Tasty Treasures cookbook should be here within the next three weeks.  If any of you from the congregation would like to order a cookbook(s) and pay for it or them in advance, please contact Ruth at 625-2424 or e-mail her at angus.maccrae@ns.sympatico.ca.  When the cookbooks arrive, they will be for sale for a couple of weeks in the hall after Sunday service.  The price of the cookbook is $15.00 each (no tax)."

Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle Knitters and crocheters—gather together in the parlour of St. Mark’s on the 3rd Monday of each month. Monday, May 21st will be our next time of gathering at 1:00 p.m

Next date for baptism and affirmation of faith/transfer to St. Mark’s is Sunday, May 13th. If interested, speak to Nan or a member of the Worship and Pastoral Care Committee.

Chowder Luncheon and Silent Auction to be held on Saturday, May 26th from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. at St. Mark's United Church Hall, Port Hawkesbury.  Admission is $12 for adults and $6.00 for children. This event is sponsored by the Hootin'Nannies, in support of the Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign to assist Grandmothers in Africa who are caring for their grandchildren who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS. The Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign is an arm of the Stephen Lewis Foundation which seeks to eradicate HIV/AIDS in Africa and assist those suffering from HIV/AIDS.
