Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle Knitters and crocheters gather together in the parlour of St. Mark’s on the 3rd Monday of each month. Next time of gathering is May 19th at 1:00 p.m.

The Annual Meeting of Maritime Conference is May 22nd-25th. Al and the Choir will be leading the Service on May 25th. There will be one Service at St. Mark’s at 9:30 a.m. No Service at St. David’s.

Food Bank donations are received on the last Sunday of the month.

Copies of the summary of the facilitated meeting (We All Drank from the Same Teapot) held at St. David’s in March are available on the table in the entry today. Excerpts of the summary will be in the bulletin over the next few Sundays.

St. David’s Lay Readers: May 18th – Dave Pringle

No Service at St. David’s on Sunday May 25th. Combined Service at St. Mark’s at 9:30 a.m. Al and the Choir will be leading the Service.

St. David’s members are asked to come out with the proper tools to clean up the Old Cemetery, known as the Kirk, on Monday, May 12th at 6 pm. weather permitting. If you’re unable to come that evening, check to see if there’s more to be done the following night at 6 pm.

There will be an evening of prayer, music and scripture for families and friends of those who have died while in the care of St. Martha’s Regional Hospital from August 1st, 2013 to January 31st, 2014 held in the Clare Marie Auditorium on Tuesday, May 13th, 2014 at 7:15 p.m. Refreshments will follow.

The Inverness County Singers will present its spring concert “How Can I Keep From Singing?” Today at 4:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church in Mabou; & Monday, May 12, 7:30 p.m. at Stella Maris Church in Inverness. Concerts will be directed by Laurel Browne with piano accompaniment by Marianne Jewell and also feature the Young County Singers. Please join us! Freewill donations go to local charities

A Caregiver Appreciation Tea on Wednesday, May 28th, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:30 pm at Nova Scotia Community College, Strait Area Campus 226 Reeves Street, Port Hawkesbury. May is Caregiver Awareness Month. Join us in celebrating the family members and friends who give unpaid care to loved ones. Everyone is welcome. No admission charge.

Today at 3pm:  Starlight Chapter # 66, Order of the Eastern Star, Port Hawkesbury will sponsor  an ESTARL service at St. David's Church, Port Hastings.  Guest speaker is Rev. Andrew MacDonald, minister of St. Andrews Presbyterian church, Whycocomagh. ESTARL( Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership) Fund supplies bursary assistance to those entering schools for the purpose of religious training. Since 1952, Estarl has been one of the special projects every year of Eastern Star chapters throughout the world.  Light lunch following the service. Everyone welcome.
