Anniversary Sunday--St. David's
The
story of Lazarus reminds us that faithful living requires noticing
the needs of our neighbours and responding to those needs. Jeremiah’s
prophetic act inspires us to invest financially in the world we want
to see, to act with hope, especially when faced with
uncertainty...God can be trusted and God will provide is the
underlying theme of the readings for this week.

Prayers of Thanks and Concern Based
on Psalm 91 (together)
God, our
refuge and fortress, our shelter and strength, we dwell in your
shadow and trust in your presence. We give you thanks for all the
blessings of this day. Grant us safety under your wings, protect us
from the terror of the night, and the dangers of the day. Teach us,
God, to know you and love you, encourage us to call on you. Be with
us in our times of trouble. Save us from all that would separate us
from you. We pray in the name of the One who taught us to pray in
this way, saying…
The Lord’s Prayer
Our
Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed
be thy name,
thy
kingdom come, thy will be done,
on
earth, as it is in heaven.
Give
us this day our daily bread,
and
forgive us our trespasses,
as
we forgive those who trespass against us.
And
lead us not into temptation,
but
deliver us from evil.
For
thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory
forever
and ever. Amen.

* Commissioning and Benediction
(responsively)
“This present
moment and its possibilities
for change and
renewal will be lost;
the future
promise and its hope for what will yet be will not
be lost:
for the word of
God’s blessing will endure and come to fruition;
as will the
ones whom God blesses. Now and for all time.”
