T
he Tea Thyme Quilters @ St. Mark’s have been full of activity quilting, sewing and learning more about quilting. The quilters were able to quilt three large quilts and the money was given to the church for expenses. We hosted an International Quilter, Nellie Holmes, who was in our area for the AGM of the Ocean Waves Quilt Society of Cape Breton. Her workshop about Fusible Folk Art Quilting was enjoyed by twenty-two quilters who made a Folk Art Wall hanging. A lovely lunch was provided by the Tea Thyme quilters.

In addition to quilting, we spent a full day at the church making tote bags and a quilt for the Blankets of Love, Mental Health Foundation. These quilts, given so willingly by quilters around the Island, bring comfort to those in the hospital for treatment of a mental illness. After our quilts are put together we will take them to St. David’s church where they will be quilted during the Quilt Show and Sale.
