WE GATHER TO WORSHIP GOD

Greeting
One: The peace of Christ be with you. All: And with your spirit.
* Introit Called By Earth and Sky Printed
*Call to Worship
Worldwide people gather at the Lord’s table this day:
fancy, carved tables; rough, wobbly tables;
all tables worthy of you, Lord.
Worldwide people approach God in worship and communion today:
fancily dressed people; barefoot, shirtless people;
all people worthy of you, Lord.
Worldwide people praise you now, God:
in groups of two or three spread out;
in multitudes of hundreds squeezed together;
all worthy of you, Lord.
Unite us, bless us, be with us, for we all approach you humbly;
and rejoice that you receive us.
Let the whole world praise you, Holy God!

* Hymn           I Come with Joy           VU 477
Opening Prayer
Like the scent from a lovely garden,
your good news wafts over all.
Like the colour on trees in autumn,
you blaze into lives with joy and peace.
As we gather to share bread around this table,
we pause to remember other tables, other times, other hands.
We take stock of our lives
and seek out a deeper connection with you.
We have hoarded the good news instead of sharing.
We have taken the cup of life without tasting.
Forgive us and set us free.
Forgive us and set us on the path of peace and love again. Amen.
