Communion (St. Mark’s)
A thought around which to gather
We are all Treaty people who share responsibility for taking action on reconciliation. Without truth, justice and healing, there can be no reconciliation.

WE GATHER TO WORSHIP GOD
Greeting Let us pause to remember that in this region we live and work and worship on lands that are, by law, the unceded territories of the Wabanaki peoples—predominantly the lands of the Mi’kmaq, Maliseet, and Passamaquoddy. May we live with respect on this land, and live in peace and friendship with its people. One: The peace of Christ be with you.
All: And with your spirit.
*Introit Called by Earth and Sky, verse 1 MV 135
*Call to Worship
In the waters of creation, in the waters of initiation, your Spirit flows.
Drench us in the new life that pours from you like a waterfall.
O star-abiding One, come unto us and dwell with us.
Grant us communion with you, in this time of worship. Amen.

Gathering, Pentecost 1 2018, p. 13. Used with permission.
Opening Prayer and Prayer for Wholeness
Loving God who watches over all, hear our prayers.
We pray for the world: that everyone will listen for the voice of God within and around us, and hear that voice as blessing and not curse, as opportunity and not condemnation, as a calling to connect with one another in compassion and respect, not in exclusion or humiliation.
We pray for ourselves that we will be strong in our trust of God’s blessing and be willing to leave behind prejudices and judgments that deny the goodness and grace of God found in all.
We pray for the survivors of the residential school system, who are finding their spirits; we give thanks for their courage and their leadership in helping all of us realize the injustice and injury caused.
We pray for continued healing and nurturing of their spirits and a growing understanding of the need for Right Relations in our country.
(Other prayers for your community and for current situations.)
We pray for ourselves and our needs this day, supporting each other in prayer:
(a time of silence) Amen.
