*Call to Worship

We stand, in silence—remembering the death.
We stand, in silence—remembering the destruction.
We stand, in silence—remembering the loss.
We stand, in silence—remembering the horror of war
to the soldiers, to the women, men, and children,
to the land and all that lives on it.
(silence)
We stand, in silence—Remembering. Waiting. Watching.
Working for peace—
in our lives,
in our community,
in our country,
in our world.
In all these things, with all these things...we worship God.                                                                        Written by Richard Bott, St. Andrew’s U.C., Maple Ridge, B.C.

* Commissioning and Benediction
People of God, once more we return to the world,
remembering what was lost to secure what we have today.
Let this Remembrance renew our faith
in the peace that God will create.
And let our witness be a guide to others so that we will no longer have to add names to our sacred task of remembering.
Go in God’s grace and God’s peace.
