August 10th, 2014—9th Sunday after Pentecost

Within all of life, even with the church, there can be difficult relationships. Sometimes, we are not treated lovingly or fairly by those we expect to love us. We all carry the pain and scars of broken relationships. This week’s theme provides an opportunity to talk about and honestly share some of life’s most difficult experiences. In front of the backdrop of these readings about brokenness, we are invited into authentic conversations and a chance to find God amidst challenge.

*Offering Prayer

We give with the hope, dear God, that you would make us in Christ’s image. Be near to us, as we draw near to you. Let our lives praise you as surely as our gifts seek to honour you. Take what we offer now, and use it for your glory, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.
