WE GO TO SERVE GOD

* Hymn           Mine Eyes Have Seen the Glory
Text: Julia Ward Howe, 1819-1910, alt.Music: American Camp Meeting tune Tune: BATTLE HYMN OF THE REPUBLIC, Meter: 15 15 15.6 with Refrain
1. Mine eyes have seen the glory
of the coming of the Lord;
he is trampling out the vintage
where the grapes of wrath are stored;
he hath loosed the fateful lightning
of his terrible swift sword;
his truth is marching on.
Refrain:
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
Glory, glory, hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

2. He has sounded forth the trumpet
that shall never call retreat;
he is sifting out the hearts of all
before his judgement seat;
O be swift, my soul, to answer him;
be jubilant, my feet!
Our God is marching on.
(Refrain)

3. In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea,
with a glory in his bosom
that transfigures you and me;
as he died to make us holy,
let us die to make all free,
while God is marching on.
(Refrain)

* Commissioning and Benediction
One: Let us take with us the blessing of Jesus,
who leads us and makes our faith complete;
All: the blessing of our Heavenly Mother and Father,
from whom we come;
One: and the blessing of the Holy Spirit, who breathes life into us all,
All: May the God of our ancestors lead us into the future.

* Choral Amen
