WE GATHER TO WORSHIP GOD

Greeting

One: The peace of Christ be with you. All: And with your spirit.
*Introit            Tune: O WALY WALY/GIFT OF LOVE (VU372)
Let us press on to know the Lord;
as sure as dawn God will appear.
Like gentle show’rs, to us God comes;
as rains of spring water the earth.          (based on Hosea 6:3)
Written by John Moses, Trinity U.C., Charlottetown, P.E.I.
Gathering, Lent/Easter 2013, page 9. Used with permission.
* Call to Worship
OneFrom far-away places, from close at hand, with hearts troubled, with minds at rest, welcome your people, Holy One.
All: For we come to worship you.
OneCarrying heavy loads, traveling light; walking in fear, living in faith, welcome your people, Holy One.
All: For we come to worship you with all that is good in our lives, with all that hurts and hinders us, with past and present in us and the future before us.
We come to worship you and find our way home.

Offering Prayer
As the prodigal made for home we turn back to you. As the parent celebrated his return we rejoice with all who love you. We are not worthy to receive all that we have, and what we offer is a simple token of all that you have given. So receive us and our offerings as we come with grateful hearts into the love of God. Amen.
* Hymn                    Love Divine, All Loves Excelling        VU  333
* Commissioning and Benediction
All: Arms opened wide to receive us
love given freely to re-shape us
forgiveness generously shared to redeem us.
Go into the world in peace and in joy to journey again with God.
The blessing of God Creator, Redeemer, and Holy Spirit be yours.
* Choral Amen
