Heartfelt Thanks for Your M&S Gifts!
The people of The United Church of Canada gave generously for M&S in 2012! Together we gave $29,347,390 for United Church Mission and Service work in our neighbourhoods, across Canada, and globally. The campaign wrapped at the end of January 2013 with congregational gifts totalling $27,026,390, plus bequests of $2,321,000 applied to the 2012 M&S ministries.
Even in the midst of financial struggles throughout the country and in our congregations, people have been generous. Our generosity has changed people’s lives. Our generosity shows M&S as a lively part of our church life and our faith expression. A special note of thanks to all ministry personnel, M&S Enthusiasts, UCW members, and many lay leaders for your faithful and creative leadership in promoting M&S. Thank you for your good and loyal work in support of our church’s Mission and Service. Check out your congregational results on the United Church website.

Tuesday, March 19th – St. Mark’s Congregational Board Meeting: 6:30 p.m. Executive, 7:00 p.m. Committees, 8:00 p.m. Combined Board.
Ways and Means—Time to Re-imagine. What are the “Ways” and the “Means” that will enable the ministries of St. Mark’s United Church? Everyone in St. Mark’s congregation is invited to come together to brainstorm and discuss possible new processes and projects that will both energize and fund the work of the church. Current Ways and Means Committee members, everyone who has been called upon to help with fundraising activities, Trustees and Finance Committee members, Board Members and anyone with an interest in or enthusiasm for stewardship are called upon to join with Nan as we “re-imagine” this important work. We will gather together on Sunday, March 24th at 2:00 p.m. in the hall. Please join us!
St. Mark's Christian Education Committee has undertaken the job of producing a digital photo directory. The purpose of this directory is to give Nan and newcomers to our Church a way of recognizing the members of our congregation. (St. David’s congregation is also joining in this project). We would appreciate the cooperation of every member and adherent of both congregations. This project will be concluded by the end of March and a PDF file will be sent to all members who have email. To facilitate this venture, please submit a recent photo of you or of you and your family to Camille Chapman, Kenzie MacLean or to the Church office. If you do not have a recent photo, please contact Camille (787-2610) and she will arrange to take a photo of you and your family. If we do not hear from you we will be calling you to arrange a sitting. Even if you are an occasional church attender, you are still important to us and we want to include you. Please help us to make this venture a success!
