Fall Youth Forum
You may or may not have heard, but Fall Youth Forum is happening Sept 28-30, 2018. 
Get your youth in your church to register for Youth Forum TODAY. We are gathering at Sherbrooke Lake United Church Camp in Nova Scotia. 
We are looking into getting transportation for our youth from various pick up locations between Moncton, Aulac, Truro and Halifax. 
You still have time to register. Registration is now available online. To register, go to www.youthforum.ca, and the application is easy to fill out and all online!

Prayer Shawl Knitting Circle: Knitters and crocheters gather in the parlour of St. Mark’s on the 3rd Monday of each month. The next time of gathering is October 15th at 1:00 p.m.

Rev. Nan Corrigan will be on vacation for 2 weeks from September 29th to October 12th. During that time, pastoral care will be covered by the Rev. Heather Manuel, Guysborough. Worship on September 30th will be at St. David's, Port Hastings at 11:00 a.m. (Lorna MacRury leading worship) and worship on October 7th, Thanksgiving Sunday will be at St. Mark's, Port Hawkesbury at 9:30 a.m. (led by Al Fougere and the combined choir). 

September 26th – 10:30 a.m.; Service at Port Hawkesbury Nursing Home. Everyone welcome.

The Worship and Pastoral Care Committee feels worship will be enhanced if we fill the front rather than the back pews. Please move forward if you are comfortable doing so. 

“Fund Raising Committee” Summer is over and it back to work! A meeting for ideas to have fun and raise money for our Church will be held Sunday, September 23rd “TODAY” following Service.

CNIB Vision Mates
CNIB has a volunteer program – “Vision Mates” – that pairs volunteers with people with vision loss to help out for a couple of hours a week. They assist with anything from running errands, going for walks, reading mail, or reading books. See bulletin board. 
Are you interested in lending a hand – and eyes – for a couple of hours a week to help a person living with vision loss in Cape Breton? If so, email jeff.deviller@cnib.ca!

The Port Hastings Museum and Archives  and the Artisans Collective Gift Shop is open Monday to Friday 10 am  to 4 pm and Sat. and Sun. 12 to 4  until the middle of October.
