UNITED CHURCH RESPONSE TO HURRICANE MATTHEW IN THE CARIBBEAN

The United Church of Canada | L'Église Unie du Canada

United Church Response to Hurricane Matthew

The United Church of Canada is calling for prayers, and has launched an appeal for donations that will provide humanitarian relief to Haiti, Cuba, and nearby Caribbean countries devastated by Hurricane Matthew. The United Church has contributed $20,000 from its Emergency Response Fund to partners in Haiti and the surrounding region.

Please share this information broadly, and help tell the story of the United Church’s work with Mission & Service partners on the ground:
  • Share with your congregation
  • Plan a special appeal with your congregation
  • Post in your church, the community, as well as on your website and social media channels
  • Send it through your email lists
  • Give to local media and community groups that can help spread the word.

Pray
We pray for the people of Haiti, Cuba, and surrounding countries whose lives have been suddenly and violently shattered. We pray for their loved ones, homes, livelihoods and crops. We also pray for those who are from this region and now living in Canada, as well as for Canadians whose loved ones were in this region when the hurricane struck.

A Prayer for the Victims of Hurricane Matthew
