Please note: Regular meeting of St. Mark’s Official Board is
 cancelled this month. We lack a new Chair of the Board and
Board Secretary. These positions must be filled before the Board
can meet again in September. Please consider whether you could
 serve St. Mark’s in either of these ministries.

Nan will be taking a week of vacation from Wednesday, June
 22nd to Tuesday, June 28th. During that time, Rev. Heather
Manuel, Guysborough will be covering for pastoral care and
funerals.

PLEASE NOTE: During the month of July Services will be held at St. David’s at 9:30 a.m. No Service at St. Mark’s

During the month of August and September 4th Services will be held at St. Mark’s at 9:30 a.m. No Service at St. David’s.

 

ST. MARK’S ANNOUNCEMENTS


Today we welcome the Eskasoni Holy Family Parish Choir in Concert, concluding with worship together. Potluck supper to follow.

Al Fougere and Jane Mac Kinnon wish to express our appreciation to members of St. Mark’s Congregation for their gifts of photos given to us during the 50th Anniversary Celebrations. It was very touching to be remembered during this special time. Thank You! Nan also wishes to extend thanks for the gift card.

Eskasoni Powwow We are planning our return visit to Eskasoni on Powwow weekend July 1st to 3rd. Sign up sheet is in the narthex today for travel together to the Powwow on July 2nd. Please indicate if you are willing to drive—or would like a ride there.

The annual Anniversary service for Fulton Presbyterian Church, Malagawatch, will be held on Sunday, June 19th, at 2:30 pm, with Robert Lyle officiating.  Everyone welcome. With Crowdis  Bridge in Valley Mills closed, those travelling by the Transcanada are to come by exit 3 at Melford, through Valley Mills; those travelling by Orangedale highway have to reroute by Eden Road.

Capella Regalis Men & Boys Choir Summer Tour 2016 – Founded in Halifax by percussionist and choral director Nick Halley in 2010, Capella Regalis Men & Boys Choir is modeled on the great European tradition of men and boys cathedral choirs, and is one of only a handful of liturgical men and boys choirs in Canada today. The choir sings Choral Evensong each week during the academic term in the Cathedral Church of All Saints, Halifax and rehearses and sings special services in the University of King’s College Chapel. Musique Royale presents the choir on tour in Cape Breton in the following venues: Baddeck (Greenwood United Church) on June 23 at 7:30 pm; Chéticamp (Paroisse Saint-Pierre) on June 24 at 7:30 pm; Glace Bay (St Anne’s Church) on June 25 at 7:30 pm; and Iona (Malagawatch Church/Highland Village Museum) on June 26 at 3:00 pm.
