WE GATHER TO WORSHIP GOD
Greeting Easter
Proclamation In celebrating the good news of Easter spreading out
throughout the world—and leading up to the celebration of different
nations and languages coming together again at Pentecost—for each
of the Sundays of the season of Easter we are providing the Easter
proclamation in a different language. Today we proclaim in Cree and
English.
One: Haleluya! Christ ôpiskaw.
(pronunciation: Christ oh-PIS-cow)
All: Tapwa ôpiskaw. Haleluya!
(pronunciation: TAP-way oh-PIS-cow!
Haleluya)
One: Alleluia! Christ is risen!
All: Christ is risen indeed! Alleluia!
*Introit Halle, Halle, Halle VU 978
*Call to Worship
One: Rise up!
All: We come to worship you, O God!
We are ready to be filled with your
presence.
One: Rise up!
All: All honour and glory and blessing
are yours,
O God, forever and ever!
One: Rise up!
All: We lift our hands and praise your
name!
You are the good shepherd who cares for
the flock.
We hear your voice and we follow you.
One: Rise up!
All: We answer your call to be present
in your communities; to go beyond these walls, praising your
name, sharing mercy, and witnessing to the transforming power of your
love. Rise up!
*Hymn When We Are Living VU 581
Opening Prayer
Creator God, help us celebrate
the new life in your creation –
the sun warming the earth, seedlings
unfolding.
We are aware of the insects, birds and
animals
who find new life in the springtime.
Thank you for the new life of this
season.
Thank you for the new life of Easter.
Amen.
