us into a new year filled with unknown tomorrows,
All: forgive us, God.

not turning out the way we want or expect, and when we cannot trust
your surprises,
All: forgive us, God. Amen.
Affirmation
of Love
God loves the world so much that
God sent Jesus to be among us, as one of us, not to judge us but to
offer us forgiveness and everlasting life. Thanks be to God! Amen.

Commissioning
and Benediction Colossians
3:12-14
So, chosen by God for this new life of
love, dress in the wardrobe God picked out for you: compassion,
kindness, humility, quiet strength, discipline. Be even-tempered,
content with second place, quick to forgive an offense. Forgive
as quickly and completely as the Master forgave you. And regardless
of what else you put on, wear love. It’s your basic, all-purpose
garment. Never be without it.
