Genesis 25:19–34
We can all identify with family tension and differences. Jacob and Esau have been battling from the beginning, even in the womb. Their competition continues as they grow older and Jacob tricks Esau into giving away his birthright.
This week we see an example of a troubled family relationship, one that will continue to develop over time.
This week, think about the differences or disagreements that exist among your siblings, or your extended family. Reflect on how these have affected your family dynamics and interactions. What can they teach you about the relationships you have with members of your congregation, friends, co-workers?
